Useful Media for Microsoft Project
Microsoft Project is a piece of software that allows users to manage various types of projects, plans, tasks, and resources. It easily allows users to see who is assigned to what part of the project, look at the various workloads of different parts of the project team, and manage their project budget. However, the program is somewhat complex, and Microsoft Project training (Microsoft Project Schulung) sessions are available for those just learning the program. Microsoft has made this piece of software available for years, but while it’s long been listed as a part of the Microsoft Office collection of programs, it has not usually been available as part of the Office suite.
However, that is set to change with Microsoft Office 2010, which will include both standard and professional versions of Project.
Unless you are a project manager for a good sized business, you have probably never heard of MS project. It’s not a program the common user will ever need since he or she will not need to create things like Gantt charts, set up a hierarchy of users, or create really detailed critical path schedules. In fact, many laypeople have no idea what any of these things are. Fortunately, the training sessions will help explain all of this. Once you have a handle on using Project, you can easily track things like your computer resources, the amount of work done on a project, and more. You can even share many of the files and calendars between computers so multiple project managers can see what resources are allocated where.
Because it’s part of the Microsoft Office suite, you will find many different types of media can be used for Project files. In fact, you can easily integrate media from PowerPoint presentations, Visio, and other Office programs. The only limitation may be your hardware, especially if your Project files get to be very large. However, this is generally not an issue, especially if your Project file is being saved on a shared server that features a large amount of storage space.
